Job Description

The University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track, 10-month contract position to start in July 2018. Starting salary: $58,000.


The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of 18 credit hours per year. Courses may be at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and delivered on campus, online, or in blended formats. In addition, s/he will serve as the Barney School of Business Master of Science in Management (MSM) Program Director, overseeing MSM student recruitment, admission, and student services. The MSM program is an on-line specialized Master’s degree that launched in January 2017. The Instructor will also demonstrate sustained excellence in management practice and education, through activities such as publishing articles, presentations at academic or professional meetings, or involvement in academic or professional associations aligned with the School’s AACSB faculty qualification guidelines. The Program Director role involves 12-month responsibilities with an associated stipend.

Required Qualifications

Ideal candidates have a doctoral degree in Management or related area, but candidates with an MBA or Master’s degree in a related area will also be considered. Candidates must have experience in college-level teaching and on-line teaching in particular, especially in the areas of leadership and management.
