Position Summary

Assumes responsibility for the oversight of the University Programs websites as well as providing administrative support in the development and coordination of departmental activities and programs in an effort to positively position the University of Hartford to the public. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of those duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.

Serves as a departmental web content manager for University Programs and All University Curriculum in an effort to maintain visibility as well as continually enhance the website end user experience. Assists in the development and management of content for social networks, distribution of information to local and national online networks and research of opportunities to expand through the internet. Oversees social media pages to position messages and information in alignment with program and University mission and values. Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with the Office of Marketing and Communication, collaborating on web initiatives to ensure consistency with University content management system standards as well as compliance with established institutional policies and branding guidelines. *

Maintains a thorough working knowledge of policies and procedures in an effort to provide effective customer service to the University community. Fields all incoming calls to the department taking initiative to resolve issues as necessary and appropriate. *

Establishes, maintains and continually strives to improve departmental procedures, files and systems. Actively participates in the analysis, recommendation and implementation of business process improvement efforts to ensure the proper use of technology and improve operational effectiveness as necessary and/or appropriate. Maintains office supplies and inventories, reordering as necessary and/or appropriate. Opens, sorts and distributes departmental mail.

Works collaboratively with designated staff to support the effective planning and execution of events and initiatives. Schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings, conferences and other associated events. Creates program agendas, event timelines and other related task lists to monitor progress and effective event execution. Ensures post-event evaluations and follow up actions are taken as appropriate. *
