Job Description

One of two Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering and Technology positions. This position focuses on computer networks and communications including, protocols, design, hardware, and cybersecurity. A position focused on embedded computer systems and sensors including the application of computers to everyday products, Internet of Things devices, and autonomous systems is also open at http://hartford.peopleadmin.com/postings/1639

Required Qualifications

The positions require a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and service. Effective written and oral communication in English is required. Both positions require an earned doctorate degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or in a related discipline. ABDs will be considered provided the candidate can document a firm degree completion date.

College Information

The Samuel I. Ward Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has 14 full-time faculty members, enrolls approximately 340 students, and offers ABET-EAC accredited programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, an ABET-ETAC accredited program in Electronic Engineering Technology, baccalaureate degrees in Audio Engineering Technology, Computer and Electronic Engineering Technology, and Electromechanical Engineering Technology, a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science with specialization in Electrical and Computer Engineering. In addition the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA) includes ABET-EAC accredited programs in Acoustical Engineering and Music, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, an ABET-ETAC accredited program in Architectural Engineering Technology, and a NAAB accredited Masters of Architecture. Within the College, there are 47 full-time faculty and 1100 students.
