Job Description

The University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Marketing to start in August 2018 pending final budget approval. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a specialization within Marketing defined by research and publications and an understanding of marketing in the global economy. All areas of specialization are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to specialties in Marketing Analytics and Digital Marketing.


Faculty members normally teach three courses per semester at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, both on-ground and on-line. The Barney School offers both day and evening classes. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities; participate in Departmental, School, and University service; and develop partnerships within the local business community.

Required Qualifications

Ideal candidates have a doctoral degree in Marketing or related area, but ABD candidates with documentation of degree completion prior to June 2018 will be considered. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate potential for superior teaching as well as evidence of scholarly activities. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. There may be opportunities to teach in our innovative interdisciplinary All-University Curriculum.
