Job Description

The Department of Physics of the University of Hartford is accepting applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2018.


Normal teaching load is 3 courses per semester. Class sizes are relatively small. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and to scholarly activity. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative, University Interdisciplinary Studies (UIS) curriculum. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in departmental and school committees, advise students, and contribute to student recruitment and retention.

Required Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in teaching physics of the human body and who can engage undergraduates in research, although candidates in all areas of physics will be considered. An earned doctorate in physics or a related area is required; ABDs will be considered providing they document a degree completion date.
