Job Description

The Mechanical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA) at the University of Hartford is seeking to fill multiple needs.

Required Qualifications

University of Hartford faculty are expected to excel in teaching and advising students at both undergraduate and graduate levels; engage in independent, collaborative, and/or cross-disciplinary peer-reviewed scholarship through intra-and extramurally funded research; and provide service to the academic and professional community.

Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree as well as an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline). ABDs will be considered provided the candidate can document a firm degree completion date. Candidates should have a background and expertise in either one of the following areas:

i. Mechanical design (components, systems, and integrated design), and manufacturing.

ii. Engineering acoustics, vibrations, noise control, and acoustics design.

The Mechanical Engineering Department offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering (including concentrations in acoustics, energy engineering and sustainable design, manufacturing, and turbomachinery); and a unique Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Acoustical Engineering/Music; as well as graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
