Job Description

Primary teaching responsibilities will include teaching in both our on-campus and online Master’s Programs in Organizational Psychology with opportunities to teach undergraduate Psychology courses in one’s area of specialization. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies (UIS) curriculum and First Year Seminars (FYS). Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching.


The teaching load is three courses per semester. Job responsibilities include teaching, student advising, research leading to publication, and service to the Department, the College, and the University. Candidates with an interest in mentoring a diverse student body in the pursuit of careers in a wide variety of organizational settings are especially encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must have completed the doctorate in I/O Psychology or closely related field by Fall 2018.

College Information

The University of Hartford is located within the greater Hartford area rich in cultural and recreational activities, and is within driving distance from metropolitan Boston and New York. The College of Arts and Sciences is the University of Hartford’s largest college with 23 undergraduate majors, 7 graduate programs and many interdisciplinary offerings. The college includes a faculty of 115 teachers and scholars, 24 staff, and a diverse and gender-balanced student body of 1,300 undergraduate and 300 graduate students. Among those students, 13% are African American, 11% are Latino/a, and 3% are Asian. The student body also includes 7% International students. The Department of Psychology has 22 full-time faculty members, 260 undergraduate majors, 100 master’s students across three programs (clinical practices, organizational psychology, and school psychology), and 130 doctoral students in clinical psychology.
