Position Summary

Assumes responsibility for providing administrative and systems support to the Office of the Registrar in an effort to efficiently and effectively register students, grades and compile subsequent reporting. Handles highly sensitive information with confidentiality and tact. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.

Key Responsibility
Description of Key Responsibility

Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with internal constituencies. Collaborates with faculty and the Faculty Center for Learning Development in an effort to effectively address course roster and registration concerns. Provides associated reports using the system Banner, Argos and Query Reporter for University administrators. Responsible for the end of term grade roll process, inputs change of grades and updates attendance data into the Banner system. Researches and responds to student, parent, staff and/or faculty inquiries in a prompt, professional and efficient manner.

Maintains timely and accurate data on both internal systems and the Banner database in compliance with established institutional data integrity standards. Updates student accounts to maintain the integrity of databases. Processes student add/drop, change of major and academic standing based on academic office requests. Assists with graduation and transcript-related tasks as necessary and/or appropriate.

Actively participates in the evaluation of existing business and technological processes in an effort to continuously improve operational effectiveness. Works with the Office of Technology Services (OTS) to research and rectify any data and/or systems concerns. Implements business process improvements, using technology as well as ongoing revitalization initiatives in support of the University’s strategic goals.

Certifies Veterans during the registration period. Prepares 25 Live reports for classroom information and schedules rooms in absence of the Academic Scheduling Administrator.

Associate’s Degree or 2- Year College equivalent required.

Varied. Work is complex and varied and requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Problems are not easy to identify, but are similar to those seen before. Moderate analytical ability is needed to gather and interpret data where results/answers can be found after analysis of several facts. Solutions can often be found by using methods chosen before in other situations.

Varied: Supervisor is available on an “as-needed” basis to establish general objectives and to identify potential resources for assistance. Independent judgment is required to slect and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures to achieve desired results.

Requires regular contacts to discuss issues of moderate importance and to respond to inquiries. Occasionally requires contact with officials at higher levels on matters requiring cooperation, explanation and persuasion.

Requires regular contact with outside agencies and the general public supplying or gathering factual information.

Contact with customers involves more complex servicing over the telephone, in writing or in person to resolve complaints, make adjustments or correct mistakes about a selected service, product or capability.

Formal Technical Skills Requires extensive knowledge of a distinct trade or technical area. Knows policies and procedures and can recommend a course of action based upon these guidelines. Modifies existing methods, procedures or forms as necessary. May work with software applications.
